Baby Weight

Sonny is close to being 18 months soon and I have yet to loose a pound of my "baby weight" I actually think I have gained more. The more I think about it the more frustrated I get. Having always been heavy as a child and teenager it is hard to be back at my chubby weight at 24. Although people are a lot nicer than they were when I was younger I still feel like and insecure teen. It has brought back a lot of emotions that I had tucked away TO BE FORGOTTEN =) but have returned. This time I guess I will deal with them instead of dieting like a maniac and running 7 miles a day. My hope is to finish school at The Natural Healing Institute and get my CN license so that I may help others in my predicament. Mostly teenage girls although I know boys need help too I know being overweight as a teen girl has many physiological effects. These effects stay with you even after the pounds are gone. My hope is to help and educate girls, women, MOMS like me who aren't naturally thin but would still like to feel and look healthy. It's a hard path but here I go again. Weight loss WATCH OUT! In Sonny news: He is as bright as can be and I cannot brag about him enough. The kid is counting and trying to read everything. He most recently learned PIZZA. He knows 40 plus words and continues to amaze me everyday, and he is obsessed with COCONUTS!

You are my Sunshine

Lil one! Happy 16 months!! I can't believe how many words you are saying now. It seems like you learn a new one everyday. I guess when you started walking at 13 months I still didn't want to come to terms with the fact that you were not an infant anymore. You continue to amaze me with you're huge brain. The sky is just the beginning little one. I can tell you have a bright future ahead.
You are so loved by everyone but We both know my love for you is the most intense. Thanks for another amazing month.
Te amo bebe
Your Mother

Dinner Dates

Sonny and I have been having them for a while. Now that he is officially a toddler his newly expanded spectrum of food choices lets us go to more places. Still I have to be picky since the kid only eats organic cuisine. Today we went to Native Foods. It's a mostly vegan semi-organic chain. I got the Soul Bowl and Sonny got the chimpanzee Pizza. He loved it! I snuck in some of my veggies and he ate all of them except the kale. It was extra exciting because it was Mommy and Me day at Native foods so Sonny got his entree for free. This was awesome because that place is quite pricey. After Dinner I chased Sonny around the water fountain and watched him explore this place we've been coming to since he was 1 month old. Now that he's walking he gets to experience much more. We laughed and giggled and then said good bye to Aliso Viejo Plaza. I love days like this, days were it's just me and him. I feel like a "real" mom and not a stress ball, young working mom who's still desperately trying to work things out.
I forget about all my stresses and just...giggle...man do we giggle. I feel my heart might explode with happiness. My moon my (Lil)man.

Bad Kids

I had a "play date" ( hate that word) with my friend Britteny today. I have known her since I was 17. She is 2 months younger than me and her Son is 2 months younger than Sonny. She is one of my closer friends now a days, other than my co-workers, actually Brittney used to be my co-worker too. Met her when I was 17, I got my first job working at Lady Foot Locker in the mall. I had just graduated high school, lost 50 pounds, and was ready raise hell. Our friendship started out innocently enough sneaking cigarettes on our breaks, but soon we both started talking about trying to get some drugs. Cocaine Specifically. I know it was my eating disorder that made me want to try it, so I could keep slim of course and give my trachea a break from all the vomiting. Anyhow Brittney was with me when I did coke for the first time. We quit that job and both lost contact with one another. After that job I got a cushy office job with my sister. 8-5 sorta deal. Paid me well and pretty soon I had a bad habit an addiction if you want to be technical. I'll leave the crappy details for a later post but eventually at 19 I sobered up. I drank heavily and smoked weed every now and then. Until
I relapsed. My heart was broken and I wanted a quick fix. New years 2008 I decided to Women up and not go back to old ways I stopped again. Soon after I found out I was pregnant with Sonny. A lot of my old friends told me to "get rid of it" I had no intentions of doing so. YES I was mortified I had just turned 22 and was single...of course are you kidding me I was shitting my pants. I knew however that I would be able to take care of "it" my baby. As soon as the initial shock was over and I decided NOT to listen to any of my "friends" I completely removed any BAD things that were in my life, including a lot of people. I never looked back.

But today as Brittney and I were proudly pushing our babies in jogging strollers I thought about how much had changed how much we had changed. I usedto hate the WORLD and now I'm bringing canvas totes to grocery stores to help save it. Silly, but some people never change they seem to have always been the same person done the same thing their whole lives. I guess me and Brittney are still friends because we were able to change. The people I used to hang out with are still doing drugs, getting loaded and wasted every night. This song Bad Kids by the Black Lips has been stuck in my head for weeks now. I dig the song because I was a Bad Kid, I can totally relate.Yet I pray to God, Sonny will never be able to relate to this song. I hope with my guidance he can realize how much better he his than drugs and booze. I hope he knows he can still ROCK N ROLL with out all the Rolling on drugs. I hope he LOVES life as much as I Love him. Thanks for bringing me so much love and hope and inspiration Sonny, my good (MARVELOUS) kid.

Someday I'll be a good writer

I suck at blogging. I will update soon. Even though I know there is no rush since my blog is never really read by anyone except for me. I like to keep it up to date so I know where my mind was the first few years of raising Sonny. Sonny, 14 months old walking and talking. My little heart.
